Terms and Conditions
Last updated 1 August 2026
These terms apply to all work carried out by Alex Floors of 14 Red Row, Hollow, Stockport SK9 5GF. Accepting a quotation means accepting these terms.
Quotations
Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date issued and are based on the measurements, photographs and sub floor condition described to us. If conditions found on site differ materially, we will stop, explain the difference and issue a revised quotation before continuing.
Deposits and payment
- A 30 percent deposit confirms your booking and secures material
- The balance is due within 7 days of completion
- Bespoke and made to order material is charged in full at the point of order
- Late payment may attract interest at 4 percent above the Bank of England base rate, calculated daily from the due date
Your responsibilities
- Clear the room of furniture and floor coverings unless we have quoted to do it
- Provide reasonable access, parking, power and water
- Keep pets and children clear of the work area and curing finishes
- Tell us in advance about heating systems, pipework or cabling under the floor
Timescales
Dates are estimates given in good faith. Weather, moisture readings, supplier delays and conditions found on site can move them. We will keep you informed and will not leave a job part finished without agreeing a return date.
Materials and natural variation
Timber is a natural product. Colour, grain, knots and mineral streaking vary between boards and between batches, and samples show a typical rather than an exact match. Finished floors change tone with light over time. Such variation is a feature of real wood and is not a defect.
Workmanship warranty
We warrant our workmanship for 5 years from completion, covering lifting, cupping and finish failure caused by our fitting. The warranty excludes accidental damage, water ingress, unsuitable humidity, pet damage and normal wear. Manufacturer warranties on materials run alongside ours.
Liability
We hold public liability insurance and will make good any damage we cause. Our liability for any claim relating to a job is limited to the value of the contract for that job. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Consumer rights
Nothing here affects your statutory rights. Work will be carried out with reasonable care and skill under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and where a contract is agreed away from our premises you hold the cancellation rights set out in the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
